Purdue Dining & Catering offers many internships during both the academic year and summer months. In Residential Dining, Nutrition 443 students learn how to order food and supplies while supervising a large dining operation. Hospitality & Tourism Management 202 and 302 students gain industry experience in the Purdue Memorial Union’s Sagamore Room and Catering Department. In Retail Dining, students discover the nuances of branded concepts by working with Starbucks restaurants. Entrepreneurship 460 students develop new revenue streams for Dining & Catering. Each summer, Dining & Catering welcomes students from across the country as part of the National Association of College & University Food Services (NACUFS) internship program. Dining & Catering has also facilitated internships with Nutrition 350, Foods & Nutrition in Business 375, Food Science 491, Psychology 492, and Retail Management 300.
