Fall 2020 Dining Frequently Asked Questions

What's the plan?
  • Purdue Dining and Culinary has been working to make sure we adhere to social distance and other health and safety guidelines. At the same time, we want students to have options, with nutritious and high-quality food. In addition to our dining court facilities, we have added new retail locations where your swipes and Dining Dollars will be accepted (Jersey Mike’s, Chick-Fil-A, Qdoba and Panera Bread to name a few!). There will also be mobile pick-up and new On-The-Go options on the academic side of campus, as well.

  • Meals at all facilities will be carryout only to begin the semester. Then, the plan is to phase in seating capacity when the university’s senior leadership (and in accordance with state and local regulations) says it is safe to do so.

  • Where will I eat? You have the option of taking your meal back to your room, in a de-densified public space adhering to social distancing guidelines and in the tents across campus. Please note, eating is not permitted in classroom spaces.

  • Residential Dining will be offering breakfast, lunch and dinner, 7 days a week.
How will it work?
  • NEW TRAFFIC FLOW: We’ve marked additional entrances and exits in dining facilities to help keep everyone at a safe distance while they are moving through. Please be patient with us during peak meal times. The goal is to get everyone safely through the lines as quickly as possible.

  • DINING APP: The Purdue Mobile Menus Dining App will be a big help to you. Since you’ll need to make your food choices BEFORE you get in line (so you know which line you need to choose), the app will let you know what food is offered in which location and which line. Each line will offer you a complete meal to carry-out and most will include entrée, hot sides, side salad, handheld fruit, dessert and a drink.

  • MOBILE ORDERING & PICKUP: Purdue Dining & Culinary is in the process of partnering with a third party vendor to make utilizing your meal plan even more convenient with mobile ordering! Although this service is still in the works, we hope it will be available sometime in early fall. Look for more information to come. In addition, you will be able to order through your mobile device and pick up at one of our academic OTG! locations.

Revised Meal Plans

Since meal service is changing a lot in order to comply with health and safety guidelines, our meal plans will be slightly altered in your favor for the 2020-2021 academic year. Take a look and compare. Rates are the same, you’re getting an extra meal (or two) from us! You will also be able to use up to 5 meal swipes per day.
