Join our Intern Team!

Purdue Dining & Culinary offers a nine week Food Service Management Internship. This internship is open to all students in a nutrition/dietetics or HTM program. Our internship offers a competitive hourly salary, a paid meal plan, and free housing in our residence halls.

The detailed training plan will include practical instruction in our dining operations that covers the front of the hose to the back of the house. This instruction will prepare the intern to act as a fully functional member of the dining court team by week nine.

In addition to the practical instruction, the internship will provide career-building experiences. Networking opportunities from industry professionals will be available on a weekly basis via virtual meetings or in-person luncheons. On-site tours at other campus dining facilities, food manufacturers, vendors and local restaurants will enhance the intern’s overall experience.

The co-chairs of the internship will be actively involved allowing the interns to reflect and provide feedback throughout the internship. Online tools will be utilized to prepare the interns for meet and greets and field trips, resources for dining court training, and discussion board opportunities.

Applications will be accepted starting January 17, 2023 and will close February 24, 2023. Interviews will take place mid-March. Applicants accepted to the internship will be notified no later than March 31, 2023. (Please note: Any application that is not complete by the closing date will not be considered for an interview.)
